Hey Bob, While you are now with Mom, Dad and Grandma I can see you looking down and smiling on me and Donna. I am sorry that I am late as usual in addressing this your memorial but losing both you and mom so close of a time frame was a "hella of a thing". I really miss you and I feel your hand lightly brushing my life in the directions that only a loving brother would and could paint for his sibilings and it gives me some relief and more hope that we will again go riding horses at full speed through the forest like we did at Devils Tower albiet in our dreams or in the other worlds that you are now creating on your celestrial canvas using your new mediums along with your accumulated skills and knowledge to 'paint your masterpiece". I'll see you when I see you but I'll feel you all the time so stop pulling my toe at night in my dreams. LOL

Donna I am so sorry for your loss. I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet Robert. I will always remember the fun I had with him hanging the art work at Creative Cauldron. His love and appreciation of art was so clear. He talked about his own work and showed me a few photos of it. The Art World has lost a very talented artist and he will be missed.

I met Robert just over 20 years ago. We were evaluating amateur art work created by people with chronic mental illness for an exhibition. We became fast friends and the friendship deepened as we got to know one another over time. We got together for jazz concerts, hockey games, and art exhibitions over the years. What I loved so much about Robert was his raw authenticity, his intelligence, his humanity...and his love of cats. I always trusted Robert for his direct, frank opinions on just about everything. In return, I strove to give him the most authentic sounding board for many of the challenges he faced over the years. After all, isn't that what the best friendships are all about? My life has been deeply enriched through knowing him. I miss him dearly.

Robert was one of a kind. His sense of humor and whimsy was all over his art - I’m so glad you included a painting of Holden, but my favorite will always be the painting of a toaster he gave us for our wedding. Still cracks me up. Only Robert would think of a gift like that. He was a kind, sensitive friend who is and will continue to be deeply missed.
