Richard F. Leverenz (Dick)

April 27, 1947-January 31, 2025

Richard passed away from cancer on January 31, 2025, peacefully in his home in Portland, Oregon. His son, Brad Leverenz, was by his side.

He was born in San Fransico, California. And later moved to and raised in Portland, Oregon.

He went to school at David Douglas High School. Worked as a mechanic for Ford Motors and was in the Boilermakers Union as a pipe fitter. And worked at this job for most of his life. Worked at other jobs throughout his life including PGE out at the Trojan Nuclear Power Plant and the City of Portland.

He was very proud and happy that he helped raise several other children throughout his early adulthood. As a young adult Dick liked to race. Dirt bikes, dragsters, formula V cars whatever he could. He made friends with nearly every person he ever met. And liked to say, “he’d give you the shirt off his back, But Don’t Try and Take It from Him”. Then he would smile to take away the sting. Throughout his life he had an amusing story to tell you. Of what he did yesterday, last week or twenty years ago.

We will not be having services for Richard.
