I had the privilege of meeting Neil about 16 years ago, and he, along with his wonderful wife Maria and their children, became our very first friends when we moved to Oregon. From the beginning, their warmth and kindness made us feel at home. Our families shared so many special moments together—holidays, dinners, birthdays. Those memories are treasures I’ll carry in my heart forever. I’ll always regret that we never made that trip to Colombia with you, Neil, but I know your adventurous and joyful spirit will live on in all of us who loved you.
