Michael Richard Boyd

May 26, 1943 – February 13, 2023

Michael Richard Boyd was born on May 26, 1943, in Lincoln, NE, to parents Victor R. Boyd and Josephine Boyd Cross, who predeceased him.Mike is survived by siblings Victor William Boyd (Leslie), Patrick Boyd (Judy),; Dr. Deborah Boyd; and Jay Cross (Leslie); wife Judith (Judi) Ward Boyd and children Michael B. (April), Tara L. and Ian R. (Angela).  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Mike grew up in Nebraska and Texas and joined the Navy in 1960.  After his service he lived in California for a short time before going north to Portland, Oregon.

In December 1968 he met Judi and they married in June 1969.  Shortly after their first child was born he found his first job in Sales.  He would work for several companies over the next 35 years supplying equipment to the food and fish and rendering industries in several countries.

Mike loved to hunt and fish.  He had several great hunting trips in the mountains of NE Oregon and all kinds of fishing with friends and family over the years.

Family was Mike’s center and he was never happier than at a family get together.  His sense of humor was legendary, with practical jokes a specialty.  He will be missed greatly.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Providence Hospice of Portland.

There will be a private interment and a Celebration of Life on May 26, 2023, at home
