September 14, 1947 - August 31, 2015 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Michael was an expert in antiques specializing in old time pieces particularly long case clocks. He owned The Olde Time Shoppe in downtown Portland from 1970-1983. He was a member and Fellow of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and served as the National Director from 1977-1980. In 1984, Michael closed his business and moved to England to attend Cambridge University’s Ridley Hall. He studied Theology and was ordained in the Church of England. He took a position in Manchester, UK and remained there for the last 30 years. During that time, Michael completed his teaching certifications and taught high school history, philosophy, and religion as a substitute teacher. Education was a passion and he also tutored university students while working towards his own Master’s Degree. Following some changes in his health, he recently moved back to Portland. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Daggett; sister, Marilyn Verrijden; and nephew Scott Remly. He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Vesta Daggett. There will be a private graveside service at Riverview Cemetery followed by a public Celebration of Life at McMenamin’s Kennedy School on September 28th from 1-4pm. Michael W Daggett passed away August 31, 2015 in Portland at the age of 67. He was born in Walla Walla, Washington on September 14, 1947. His family moved to Cedar Hills in the 1950s. He graduated from Sunset High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Philosophy from Portland State College.
