Matthew James Wilson

August 07, 1973 – July 30, 2024

Matthew James Wilson was born on August 7, 1973 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to James Edward Wilson and Carolyn Leigh (Hagoes) Wilson. He grew up in Portland, Oregon where he attended Glencoe Elementary, Mt Tabor Middle and Franklin High Schools. He played football and earned his varsity letter. He was a member of Lents DeMolay. Later, he attended Western Business College.

Early in life he was an avid Star Wars fan. As a child, he became fascinated with nutcrackers which started a lifelong collection. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys. As an adult he was a Raiders fan and loved his Oregon Ducks.

Matt died of natural causes on July 30, 2024.

He was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by his sisters Angelina “Annix” Wilson and Jennifer Wilson, his aunt Nancy (Hagoes) Adams, his biological children Nathaniel Wilson, Miranda Jean Wilson, Chyanne Wilson, Tabitha Wilson and Rhionna Wilson, his granddaughter Scarlet Fivecoats, numerous cousins, his significant other Kimberly Ebbe and his lifelong friend till the end Jay Ritter.

In lieu or flowers, the family requests donations for Matt’s Memorial Blessing Bags to be given to the homeless. A list of needed & suggested items is posted on Jennifer & Annix Facebook pages and will also be printed and distributed at the memorial. A collection bin will also be available.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, September 15th at 11:00 at Red Sunset Park in Gresham in the Sunset Shelter.
