Mary Lee Stephens

August 26, 1932 – April 22, 2022

Mary Lee Stephens was born to Bessie McKinney-Stephens and Manuel Stephens in Abilene, Texas on August 26, 1932.

Mary began her journey in life in Abilene with her siblings Minnie, Thelma, Ruby, James and M.C.  After her father landed a job in Oregon, he sent for his family and she made her mark in Portland.

Mary visited Las Vegas, California, Washington and Oregon beaches to be with friends and family members. Mary took time to read her Bible, play solitaire, and express gratitude to God for her blessings.  She enjoyed her family time and generally renamed each child and some friends.

Mary was a very meticulous, organized and an extremely clean person.  She always spread her table so there was never a reason to leave her home hungry. She would sing to you, dance with you and invite you to be silent when her favorite shows were on. You might think she was a paid actress based on her attitude, emotions and interactions with shows on television or in movie theaters.

Mary leaves to reflect on precious memories her sons; David and Harold; daughter Stephany: grandchildren Feliece, Jeremiah, Timiko, Terrance, Jeffery,Tonya, Emma, David II, DeAusha; many grand and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her children (Sharon and Jeffrey); two grandchildren (KeAusha and DeAndrae); three sisters (Minnie, Thelma and Ruby); two brothers (James and M.C.); and her parents (Bessie and Manuel).
