Mary Lee Alberts

July 11th, 1933 – June 2nd, 2021

Mary Lee Alberts, 87, of Vancouver, WA passed away on June 2nd, 2021, at her home.

Marry Lee was born July 11, 1933, in Kimberly, ID to Jesse and Martha Ford. She was second child of their four children.

She graduated Southern Oregon University in 1964 with a Masters in Education. While at Southern she met and fell in love with Larry Alberts. They were married December 14^th, 1957 in North Bend, OR. They had one daughter, Susan. After a short time on the east coast with the Navy, Larry and Mary Lee moved to Larry’s hometown of Grants Pass, OR where they stayed 58 years.

In Grants Pass, Mary Lee was a proud English Teacher at South Middle for 33 years before retiring. Teaching was a true passion of hers, she loved being part of her students support system in and out of the classroom. She would bake for the sports teams and decorate for the band concerts.

She was also an active member of multiple Masonic organizations, including Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star, and Job’s Daughters. She spent many summers traveling with her husband to all the masonic events around the country.

Mary Lee moved to Vancouver, WA in August 2016 to be closer to her daughter. December of that year, she lost her dear husband after 59 years of marriage.

Her last few years were spent making pizzas and playing bean bag baseball with her special friend Cordell Lucas. He held her hand through all the challenges over the last year.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Coulter; grandchildren, Scott (Christin), Josh (Stacy), Jason (Maribel), Justin (Leslie), Ryan (Alyssa), Katie (Ross), Julie (Sean), Jenni (Cody), 19 Great Grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; her sister Sherry Golder (Lee).

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her two brothers.

A Remembrance of Life has been scheduled for 4pm on June 25^th, 2021, in Grants Pass, OR at Reinhart Volunteer Park (Harry and David Shelter).
