Marjorie Anne Woodfill

November 2, 1932 – December 20, 2025

Marjorie Anne Woodfill, age 93, passed peacefully on December 20, 2025. She was born in Longmont, Colorado, and later moved to Oregon, where she attended Rockwood schools and graduated from Gresham High School. East Portland became her lifelong home, where she built a life grounded in faith, family, and service.

Marjorie dedicated many years of her working life as a principal’s secretary, retiring in 1987. She was known for her strong work ethic and energetic spirit, with no grass ever growing under her feet. In her retirement years, she continued to stay active, working for The Art Institute and at athletic competitions for the OSAA and the University of Portland.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Marjorie was actively involved in her church throughout her life. She was very active in the American Baptist Women’s organization and a devoted member of PEO, where she valued fellowship, service, and lifelong friendships.

Marjorie shared a loving marriage with her husband, Loren Woodfill, for 75 years. Together they built a life centered on faith, hard work, and devotion to family. Their enduring partnership was a steady source of strength and a quiet example to all who knew them.

Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found great joy in following her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and took pride in being present for the moments that mattered most. She also had a special fondness for collecting angels, a reflection of her gentle spirit and enduring faith.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Sitzman. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Loren Woodfill; her children, Stan Woodfill (Lisa) and Barbara Hewitt (Robb); her brothers, Jim and Ken Sitzman; her grandchildren, Bryan and Kevin Woodfill, Brittany Hewitt, and Chelsea Ross; and her great-grandchildren, Nathan and Ella Woodfill, Harper Woodfill, and Baker Ross.

A memorial service celebrating Marjorie’s life will be held on February 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Savage Memorial Presbyterian Church.
