I'll always remember Marian as being a kind, gentle presence in the lives of my children when we lived in Portland and attended Lincoln Street Methodist Church. She had a calming presence and a smile that sparkled. A wonderful woman.

Rest Dear Aunt Marian. Such a testament to loving all of God’s people. Generous, caring and a wonderful example of how to our life should be lived. She was ALWAYS ready to serve those in need. She leaves so many happy memories to those that were fortunate enough to know her well. Her legacy continues four biological (and incredible children) ,Grand, and Great Grand Children, plus many others that that still call her mom. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Mrs. Derby. I spent many nights at her house during my teenage years. Heather and I were best buddies and the whole Derby family always made me feel loved and welcome. She will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of being in her orbit.
