Maria Negreanu

Maria Negreanu was born January 7, 1939 to Ileana and Ioan Picos in Galda de Jos, Romania. She went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2022 after a brief illness.

Maria obtained the equivalent of a BSN in nursing in Romania at the age of 22 years old. She resided in Romania until the age of 38 years old when she immigrated to the United States in 1980 with her spouse and children. She then resided in Chicago with her family until she moved to Portland, OR in 1998. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Maria ran an adult foster home with her oldest daughter from 1998 until 2015 when she retired.

Maria is survived by her two daughters, Mia Fillinger and Mannie Watkins (husband, Jeremy Watkins), as well as her husband Emil Negreanu, three grandchildren, Alexzandrea Bowen (husband, Justin Bowen), Arthur Fillinger (wife, Jen Fillinger), and Carson Watkins, and her great granddaughter Florence Eliza Fillinger. She was predeceased by her two sisters and four brothers.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 26th 1:00 PM at Omega Funeral & Cremation Service, 223 SE 122nd Avenue, Portland, Oregon.
