Lloyd was my father in law. He was welcoming to me the first time we met and I cherish the memories shared with him. Above all, I’m so thankful to Lloyd. He was a loving and present dad to my husband Alex, and helped shape him into the man I love so deeply. I see so much of Lloyd in Alex: his authenticity, his love of movies, his collecting of favorite items, his commitment to me & our family, and his values. Lloyd was such a wonderful grandpa, always getting on the girl’s levels to play with them and make them feel special. From gardening, to water gun fights, to playing with dolls…he was such a special presence for our girls. And Lloyd was an incredible husband. His and Darla’s love and dedication to each other throughout their 52 year marriage is so special. As a kid of divorce, I have been inspired by their relationship and it instilled hope in me that Alex & I could share a lifetime together too. I could always see Lloyd’s love for Darla in the littlest moments: how he looked at her, how they would hold hands, and how he’d tell stories of their life together. Lloyd is so missed. Were devastated to not have him here to celebrate the holidays & to witness our girls continuing to grow up. And I’m also so thankful and joyful to have known him.

Lloyd was the kindest, friendliest person and had a great sense of humor. I knew him for over 40 years and he never changed . Saw him at every gathering we had with our family and enjoyed him and his laughter that everybody liked. Saw him 2 years ago before they moved to Oregon and it saddens me that to say he will be missed at all our gatherings from now on. Rest in peace my friend our friend. Blessings Lloyd, Maria & Gene
