Linda Jeanne Scarpelli

August 18, 1945 – July 05, 2024

Linda Jeanne Scarpelli was born in Portland, Oregon on August 18, 1945 and passed away on July 5, 2024.   She was the beloved daughter of Ernest and Lorene Scarpelli.  Linda attended St.Charles Catholic grade school, Holy Child Academy Highschool, and Portland State University where she got her BA.

She was a postal carrier, Tri-Met small bus driver, Parry Center for Children staff member, and a care giver.  She also worked at a canning facility, and her father’s Porter Scarpelli Macaroni Company.  Linda played the piano, took horseback riding lessons, and played volleyball and basketball in school.  She enjoyed singing and being in operettas at HCA.

Linda studied in Pavia, Italy her junior year in college.  Her sister and grandparents met her there, and they visited all their Italian relatives, as well as traveled all around Europe for a month.  She also traveled extensively in the USA with friends, especially to Hawaii.

Linda liked skiing, rock climbing (she belonged to the Mazamas), fishing, kayaking, bike riding and hiking.  Linda owned a VW van that she drove around.   During the Mt. St. Helen’s eruption in 1980, she sold all sorts of Mt. St. Helen’s ash souvenirs from her van.

She was a dear sweet friend to many.  Linda was very caring, loving and giving.  She never met a stranger….they all became her friends or acquaintances.  Linda was good natured and loved all animals, especially cats, dogs, and horses.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sisters Vicki and Karen, brother Michael, favorite aunts Teresa and Maggie, her nephew Mark, great niece Kamryn, and many cousins, other relatives, and friends.  She leaves behind brothers Pat(Pattie) and Mike(Denise), sisters Mary and Lori(John), many nieces and nephews, greats, cousins, and friends.  We will miss her dearly.  God bless & keep her.  I imagine they all are having a huge family reunion up in heaven!

Gravesite services and celebration of life will be at 12:30 PM, August 16th at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 333 SW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97221.  Reception following….
