Leslie Ellen Smith Marquand

Leslie Ellen Smith Marquand, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 14, 2025.

Born on March 29, 1962, to the late Gloria Vivian Johnson and Larry Smith, Leslie was a cherished member of her family and community. Leslie is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Marquand, and her loving children: Michelle Nash, James McDonald, and Mishia Moreno.

She was a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Leslie also leaves behind her siblings Jamie Gray, Eugene Smith, and Bennett Bunn. Leslie grew up in Stockton, CA, with her brother Eugene, sister Jamie, and her other sisters, Reme Dumayas and Tammy Ferreira.

She spent most of her life in Stockton before moving to Milwaukie, OR, where she resided for the last 20 years. In Oregon, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and thrive. Leslie loved when all the family got together for football games, birthdays, random Sundays, BBQs, or to watch wrestling. Leslie had a passion for arts and crafts, gardening, singing, and dancing around the house. She enjoyed an eclectic mix of music, collecting rocks, knickknacks, and antiques, and loved traveling, especially to the beach.

She found comfort in attending church, praying, and reading the Bible. Leslie’s warmth, love, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Leslie’s life will be held on March 29th at 1pm at Town Center Baptist Church, 10505 SE 85th Ave, Happy Valley, OR 97086.
