I’m sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. I hadn’t seen him in over 25 years, when I left the engineering firm Parsons Brinckerhoff in downtown Portland, but I really enjoyed working with him during the many years that we were colleagues. I had joined the company in 1991 (employee #4) as a transportation planner and remember when Larry was hired a few years later. By then, the office had grown to about 30 people. In the late 1990s, I even convinced Larry to take over my other job there, as the office’s IT manager. We laughed about that several months later, of how glad I was to hand those IT headaches off to him – which he eventually (and wisely) handed off to someone else. Larry was a wonderful guy. He had an even temperament and always kept his cool no matter how stressful the situation, something I really admired, and I always enjoyed talking to him. Again, I’m sorry to hear this.

Ross and I are so sad to hear of Larry's passing. He was one of a kind and will be missed. Such a patient, brilliant and kind human!
