Larry M Alberts May 23, 1934 ~ December 17, 2016

Larry Alberts, 82, passed away peacefully at home in Vancouver, WA on December 17th, 2016.

Larry was born May 23rd, 1934 in Grants Pass, OR to Ben and Dorotha Alberts. Larry grew up in Grants Pass and graduated from Grants Pass high school in 1952. He then attended Southern Oregon College before leaving to join the Navy. Before he left for the Navy, he met the love of his life Mary Lee Ford. They had only one date before he left, they went to Crater Lake to play in the snow and then back to Sweetheart’s Ball in Mary Lee’s dorm. For the next two years, they wrote letters back and forth and fell madly in love. They were married December 14, 1957 in North Bend, OR. After the Navy, MaryLee and Larry moved back to Grants Pass. They had one daughter, Susan.

Larry held a few different Sales jobs in before retiring. His favorite job was working at Scott’s Jeweler’s alongside his best friend Kent.

Larry was very active in the Hillah Shriners, Grants Pass Masonic chapter 84, Eastern Stars, and Job’s Daughters. He loved taking pictures for all of the events and making sure he captured every special moment on film.

Larry and MaryLee stayed in Grants Pass until August of this year, when they moved to Vancouver, WA to be closer to their daughter.

Survivors include his wife, MaryLee Alberts; daughter Sue Coulter; grandchildren, Scott (Christin), Josh (Stacy), Jason (Maribel), Justin, Ryan, Katie (Ross), Julie (Sean) and Jenni; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Dorotha.
