Larry Gene Pless

April 23, 1947 – October 22, 2020

Larry at age 73,lost his life suddenly on October 22,2020, after being diagnosed only three weeks earlier with Pancreatic Cancer.

Born to Johnson and Shirley Pless, Larry came into this world a fighting 6 month old premie. After 22+ surgeries throughout the first 10 years of his life, Larry began to enjoy his life with his family and many friends.

Living first in Oregon City, Oregon, Larrys’ family, in 1959, moved to the community of Sellwood in Portland Oregon. There he developed many friendships that would last for over 60 years.

During his High School years, Larry followed his passion for landscaping and worked as a private contractor. After Larry graduated Cleveland High School, he went to work for several companies including FMC, Granger and Molded Containers. Larrys’ love for landscaping and the outdoors eventually lead him back to pursue a job with the Portland Park Bureau from where he would later retired from.

Larry loved photography. You could almost always count on him having his camera at every activity or event you would go to. Always getting that perfect picture.

Larry always had a bunch of friends and family around. He would enjoy playing Pool, Darts, Pinball and Video Games with them. He also loved the outdoors. He loved hiking, fishing, boating and target practicing. And he truly enjoyed all the places he was able to visit and photograph during the travels he did with his siblings Linda, Peggy, Debora and their spouses.

Larry loved life and enjoyed most moments. He will be truly missed by many.

R.I.P. Larry

Due to Covid: Services will be held at a later date and possibly for 2 different times and places to allow all of Larrys’ friends and family to say goodbye safely.
