Larry joined the Navy in 1958 and made a career out of it. He was stationed in Japan where his first 2 children were born.

He moved back to the United States where his third daughter was born at Travis Air Force Base and the 4th daughter born in Eugene.

Retiring from the Navy in 1988. He went to work for The Housing Authority and for the Veterans Affairs where he retired due to a stroke.

In Highschool he played basketball, football, track and he also wrestled. Having numerous articles written about his athletic achievements.

He was a very caring father and grandfather. He was always there whenever we needed him.

You would find him on Timothy lake with his favorite grandchild Anthony catching all the fish, or none at all. Either way he absolutely loved to camp and fish for weeks at a time He loved to watch a game on the television and listen to another on the radio, thinking back it was pretty funny. He loved animals just as much. Larry won the very last dog that was given away on the Ramblin Rod Show, she lasted 13 years. Then Dino a Pit/Shepard mix,  Duke was a Heinz 57 dog and finally his last dog was a Great Dane named Chandler. At the time Chandler was the love of his life, his best friend.

He loved spending time with his girls and his grandchildren.

He lived a very full happy life. The last of his days being taken care of by his daughter Kathy and family. So he was surrounded by family and his baby girl LaReina, his youngest grandchild. He always wanted his baby girl around him and she would make him laugh with all of her anties. Bringing a smile to Larry’s face that no one will forget.

Larry Dean Yost will be forever loved and missed. Never forgotten.

Yost, Larry
