January 12, 2022 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Larry Gene Cody, age 66, of Portland Oregon, passed away December 12, 2022 at home with his loving wife by his side. Larry battled heart disease for over 3 decades leading to many other health ailments. He was placed on Hospice over 2 years prior, far exceeding expectation as he always did. Larry was a fighter his entire life. Born into struggling circumstances, he had a life long track record of overcoming and preserving. He lived many places and worked various jobs until starting a nearly 40 year career at Precision Cast Parts. Larry became a father in October of 1975 to his first son Jason. In March of 1979 he welcomed his 2nd son Dustin. A short time after, in July of 1980, his daughter Shelley was born. In 1995, Larry found his soul mate Dianna and welcomed another daughter, Samantha, into his heart as his own. After sharing their life for many years, in 2011 Larry and Dianna were married. Throughout the years Larry’s family grew bringing many grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family was of great importance. He was a good friend to many; both maintaining life long friendships and forming new ones along his way. Larry’s greatest passion in life was his love of hot rods, specifically his 59 Impala which would draw attention from anyone. He also loved fishing, boating, camping, ATV riding, traveling, green thumb gardening, and other outdoor adventures. Larry worked hard for everything he had and he played just as hard with everything he worked for, despite the sickness that plagued him. Larry’s strength in life and in death is a true inspiration to everyone who knew him. His family and friends will remember him as an entertaining storyteller who could make them laugh with anecdotes of his life adventures. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Dianna Cody, Sons Jason Clark and Dustin Cody, Daughters Shelley Cody and Samantha Ellis, Sister Joselin Jackson, Brother Ronald Cody, all his grandchildren great grandchildren, cousins, uncle, and countless friends. The family will announce date and time of celebration of life when arrangements have been finalized.Larry Cody
