December 28, 1932 - January 7, 2026 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Kay was a Loving and supportive Daughter, Sister and Aunt over her ninety-three years. She resided in the Greater Portland Area for the vast majority of her life. Kay lived a life of service, faith and charity. It was not enough to just “talk about making things better”; as Kay went out of her way to take action and improve the lives of many. She offered room and board to several that were in need, as that was her altruistic nature. She was, for many decades, an active member in her church– Westminster Presbyterian of NE Portland. Kay served as a Deacon and assisted in many transitions, and causes. She was a participant overseeing the selection of a new Pastor many years ago. After finishing her four years at Reed College in Portland, she went to work for Multnomah County as a Social Worker specializing in Child Welfare. She retired in 1995 and began her globe-trotting. Kay continued her support of Reed College as an Alumni. Perhaps more than anything, Kay enjoyed travel as she visited all of the continents (exception: Antarctica) and over 100 countries in her lifetime. She had been to China three times and even provided room and board for a Chinese Exchange Student. It would be impossible to list all of the charitable causes that Kay contributed to, although some of her favorites were Amnesty International, Southern Poverty Law Center and Save the Children. Over her lifetime, Kay donated a considerable sum as she felt so strongly for those suffering. Kay was preceded in death by her Father Robert Tousley, Mother Evelyn Tousley, Brother Gordon Tousley, Sister Jean Chew, and Nephews David and Geoffrey Chew. She is survived by Sister Kim Phillips, Nephews Robert, Alan and Donald Tousley, Niece Eileen Ferber and Grand Nephews David and Aaron Ferber and Grand Niece Claire Tousley. In addition, she has Great- Grand Nephew Zach, and Great- Grand Niece Zoey. Kay had a beautiful smile that will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 1624 NE Hancock St., Portland, OR 97212 on March 28, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
