December 28, 1961 - November 18, 2020 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Bishop Justus Amunga went home to be with the Lord on, Wednesday, November 18, 2020. He was surrounded by his loving wife Jane and his children. He was born on December 28th, 1961, to Martin Amunga and Josephine Ayako, in Lugari, Kenya. He was raised by his grandparent Beliada Chibole and Agnes Okubasu who shaped his life and faith. He attended Luya primary school and Musingu Boys High School. He enrolled in Maseno University to pursue a career in education, starting as an educator at Shanderema High School. In 1989, he founded Ushindi Life Outreach Ministries (ULOM) with a distinct emphasis on evangelism. To fulfill ULOM’s global vision, he invested much in the training and establishing of a network of Christian leaders that extends throughout Kenya and the world. In 2001, he partnered with friends from Southern Oregon to establish and built Ushindi Children’s Home in Kambiri, Kenya, to provide shelter, food, and clothing to 81 orphans. Under his direction, several churches, schools, Children’s homes, and initiatives have been established in Kenya in partnership with friends across the world. Bishop Justus has served in different capacities and partnered with various non-profit organizations including Victorious Outreach Ministries, South Valley Orphanages of Kenya, African Orphan Outreach, Empower Africa, Valor Christian School International, Go Ye Ministries International, and Ushindi Life International. He will be remembered as a man of great faith, with few but wise words, a doer not a talker, and an inspiration to all who knew him. A faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ who impacted many lives through providing so many with hope, a home, clothing, education, food, boundless love, and teaching them the way of the Lord. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his adoring wife and best friend, Jane Amunga; children, Agnes, Emmanuel, Victory, Favour, and Trevour; grandchild, Dacy Amani; extended family, friends, the community, and the Ushindi family. The family wishes to thank the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Dr. Adel Kardosh, and the staff for their care during dad’s journey in these past 9 months.
