LAUZON, Julia Hazel Shoun April 22, 1916 ‰ÛÒ Dec 1, 2015 , born in Richmond, OR to parents Nathaniel & Emily Shoun. She was the third of four children & most recently lived in Gresham, OR.

Julia’s early years were in Eastern Oregon where her father was a sheep rancher and her mother ran a boarding house in Fossil. Her family moved to The Dalles where Julia graduated high school in 1935. Julia moved to Portland in 1941 to attend business school and shared an apartment with girl friends in downtown Portland; she soon went to work for Sprouse Reitz retail store as a bookkeeper until her retirement.

Julia married Virgil L. Lauzon Jan 31, 1942, just before Virgil went overseas for WWII.
They raised their family of two sons, Ron & Doug, in SE Portland. Julia was like a 2nd Mom to many other children in the neighborhood & they all remained life long friends.

Julia was a Cub Scout den mother when her sons were active in scouting. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxillary for 68 yrs and member of 8 & 40 Chapeau Folle Salon 608, for cystic fibrosis. Julia was a member of Hinson Memorial Baptist Church and two red hat clubs. Her many hobbies included cooking, canning, sewing, crafts, drawing & gardening. Julia traveled to the Holy Land in 1969 and to Alaska with her husband in 1970.

Julia was predeceased by husband Virgil in 2002, son Doug in 2001, brother Joseph Shoun & sisters Ruth Catlin & June Lauzon.
She is survived by her son, Ron (Shirley) Lauzon of Sandy, OR, grandchildren Carrie, Jody, Tim, Rob & Pam, four great grandchildren, niece Susan Knight & other relatives in Modesto, CA.

The family is thankful for the many friends who visited & helped Julia in her later years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hinson Baptist Church foreign missions, The American Legion Oregon Trail Post #150, or Oregon Cystic Fibrosis.
A memorial service will be held in January at Hinson Memorial Baptist Church.
