Judy Maxine (Scott) Blubaum

July 26, 1942 – October 23, 2023

Judy Maxine (Scott) Blubaum passed away peacefully with her husband by her side in Troutdale, Oregon on October 23, 2023, at the age of 81. Judy is survived by her husband Bruce of Gresham, OR, her four children Brian Blubaum (Michael Jones) of Petaluma, CA, Scott (Leigh) Blubaum of Gresham, OR, Sandi (Matt) Gillgam of Gresham, OR, Susan Blubaum of Gresham, OR and her two sisters May Baucom of Gresham, OR and Helen Betts of Sandy, OR. She was a cherished grandmother to her four grandchildren: Joe, Jacob, Katie, and Olivia. In addition, Judy was blessed with six great-grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Rex and Winnie (Chronister) Scott.

Judy was born on July 26, 1942, in Pendleton, Oregon. On March 3, 1961, Judy married the love of her life and high school sweetheart Bruce Blubaum. Together they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and companionship.

Judy was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom until her children became school aged. She began her career as a bookkeeper and eventually moved into healthcare and retired as a medical biller. Judy was known for her warm, compassionate, and altruistic nature. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend who brought joy and comfort to everyone around her. She possessed a deep passion for family and enjoyed discovering new recipes and perfecting them in the kitchen for all to enjoy. Judy had an unwavering faith in God and was a longtime active member of Ascension Lutheran Church. She served as a greeter, an Altar Guild member, and sat on the Mission Committee. Judy enjoyed traveling to different places including a missionary trip to Guatemala. Anywhere she went, Judy kept her eyes peeled for unique rocks to pick up and place in her pocket.

Family, friends, and others are invited to Ascension Lutheran Church, 1440 SE 182nd Avenue, Portland, Oregon, 97233 at 1:00 p.m. on November 11th, 2023, to reminisce and celebrate the life of Judy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made in the form of donations to the Ascension Lutheran Church Mission Fund, in honor of Judy.

The family of Judy Maxine Blubaum would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the support and kindness of friends and loved ones during this challenging time.
