Joseph Luis Hernandez Jr., a proud veteran of the Marine Corp. concluded his earthly journey on August 9th, 2023. He was predeceased by his beloved Grandmother, Delores “Lola” Acosta and his cherished Grandson, Grayson Alexander Curry.

Joseph, known as “JoJo” or “Joey” to those who knew him best, was born on November 20th, 1956, to Maria Isabel Rodriguez and Joseph Louis Hernandez Sr.  Joseph attended Taft High School in the Bronx, NY before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, where he served from 1973 to 1977, dedicating his time in combat to the Vietnam War. Joseph was intent on instilling the values of honor and perseverance in the lives of those he loved, especially when it came to his children and grandchildren. Joseph’s memory and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his son, Demiko Hernandez, his loving daughter, Catherine “Cayti” Hernandez, and his two adoring grandchildren, Paisley and Keegan.
