Joan was a dear friend. She often wondered why God still had her on earth, but I know it was because she was such an encouragement. She touched so many lives in her work with deaf people, in missions, and in being a friend. She is an example of a life well lived.

She always spent one one one time with each of her grandchildren. I remember playing games with her as a child. Then she did the same with my kids. She was my prayer warrior too. She always told me I was special. I’m blessed to have her as my grandma. I’m grateful that she is with Jesus and is at peace. She will be missed.

Joan was such a wonderful prayer warrior! You could always count on her to be that for you when you needed that the most. She will be remembered for that the most . I’m so sorry for the loss. ??

I called her my American grandma because she told me to call her Grandma Joan when she took me aside to encourage me in my memorization of Scripture. She had just the right mix of encouragement and challenge, spurring me on to a deeper relationship with the Lord. I loved her joy, honesty, and rich faith. Such a genuine woman and a blessing to many. She will be so missed but I'm so thankful she's running and singing with Jesus now!
