Hollis C. Gassner

October 28, 1953-August 10, 2023

Hollis Craig Gassner passed away peacefully at his home in Portland, Oregon with his loved ones by his side on Thursday, August, 10 at the age of 69. He was born in Seaside, Oregon to Patricia (Olson) Gassner and Arlen Gassner.

Hollis grew up in the Madison South neighborhood of Portland, OR where he attended Madison High School with life-long friends Terry Hauck and Marty Anderson. He was a talented guitar player and gifted artist who loved music and classic Sci-fi and B-Grade horror movies. One of his favorite pastimes was going to garage sales, where, in 2002, he crossed paths and reacquainted with former schoolmate and soulmate , Patti Gassner (Warrick). Hollis and Patti married on June 29, 2023

In years past, Hollis spent much of his time with his sister Leslie and her family in Mayger, Oregon where he once lived. He enjoyed being the fun, loving Uncle and made a lasting impression on his loved ones with his cunning sense of humor and generosity. Hollis continued his passion for playing guitar and going to garage sales with Patti always at his side.

Hollis was a greatly loved and influential man, brother, uncle, husband and grandfather who will be missed immensely.

Hollis is survived by his wife Patti Gassner (Warrick), his beloved cat PITA, 3 step children, 11 grandchildren, sister-in-law Becky Warrick, sister Leslie Kallunki (John) of Mayger, OR, niece Britta Kallunki of Portland, OR, nephew Arlen Kallunki (Amanda) of Portland, OR, great nephews Damien Elizarraraz, Delano Hollis Kallunki, Leon Kallunki and half siblings Arlayne Hoff of Seaside, OR, David Gassner of Thompson, IA and Tracy Gassner of Seaside, OR

Hollis was preceded in death by his mother Patricia (Olson) Gassner of Portland, OR, half-brother Shane Gassner of Roseville, CA and father Arlen Gassner of Seaside, OR.
