Gregg Mark Ferrell

Gregg Mark Ferrell, 70, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on June 25,2023.

Gregg was born on September 9, 1952 to Walter and Catharine (Kay) Ferrell in Portland. Gregg graduated from James Madison High School in 1970. He later took some classes at Mt Hood Community College and Portland State University.

Gregg spent most of his career as a Journeyman Machinist, working for companies including Boeing, Proturn, and Sulzer.

Gregg’s hobbies included photography, hiking, and gardening. He was involved in a photography club and earned many awards. His favorite subjects were flowers, waterfalls, the coast, Mt. Hood, and classic cars. He did some traveling, and especially enjoyed visiting and photographing National Parks. He also volunteered his time to Camp Arrah Wanna, where his family had a long history of being involved. When healthy, he took daily walks and visits to the dog park with his dog, Rusty. In his quiet time, he enjoyed listening to jazz music and reading.

Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, Walt and Kay. He is survived by his brothers Steve and Brian, daughters Melissa and Erin, and five grandchildren.

A private memorial for family and friends was held for Gregg.
