A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM February 11th, 2017 at Mountainview Christian Church 1890 NE Cleveland Avenue Gresham, OR 97030.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Lung Association.

Fred Wallace Dempsey

November 8, 1935 – January 8, 2017

Fred Wallace Dempsey was born in Portland, OR on November 8, 1935 to Frank & Helen Dempsey. He passed away on January 8^th, 2017 from lung cancer. He attended Russellville grade school & graduated from Gresham high school. He met & married Donna Lohr in 1956. They celebrated their 60^th wedding anniversary on August 4^th, 2016. They were each other’s best friend & love of each other’s lives.

He had 3 children: Julie Krupke (Kevin), Jeff Dempsey (Kerri) & Debbie Hickok (Marc). He had 8 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Joan Schilling (Cliff) & numerous nieces & nephews. He worked at Firestone Tire & Rubber for 35 years & while there he was their top national salesman for several years. He was preceded in death by his father, mother & brother Jack.

My parents could not have been better role models for Julie, Jeff & I and all of their grandkids and great grandkids! Our family won’t ever be the same without him but we will get through this.

My dad was our rock and I hope we get through the years without him in a way that will make him proud of us. We love you so much dad! I hope you knew how much you meant all of us. Not just your family but to all of the friends you’ve had over the years. You will be missed more than you could possibly know!!
