December 26, 1919 - July 23, 2016 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends A career wife, involved mother to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She worked for the Imperial Valley Public Health Department as a nurse’s helper and El Centro Fabrica as a seamstress. Born in Cosala, Sinaloa. The oldest daughter of 5 siblings (4 sons and 4 daughters). In 1951 she moved her family to Mexicali, Mexico and having a total of 7 children. The oldest Guadalupe Yniguez, Manuel Avendano, Juan Cruz, Roberto Barros (Passed), Cecelia Barros, Maria Elena Martinez and Ricardo Barros (Passed), 15 Grand Children, 8 Great Grand Children and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Singing and listening to music especially mariachi was her passion it made her feel young and vibrant. Something was always cooking on the stove, her specialty Tamales and a variety of Mexican Food. If you visited and weren’t hungry she made it to go. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Casino slot machines. The family would like to give a special Thank You to Joe and Maria Elena (aka Nena) Martinez for the love and care they brought to their mother during these final years of her life. Also, we would like to thank the staff at Providence Elder Place/Gresham and Pacifica Senior Living. She will be missed and loved dearly.Francisca Diaz

Francisca Padilla Diaz, age 96, passed into God’s hands in her sleep from a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on July 23, 2016 in the loving and caring home of Pacifica Senior Living in Portland, Oregon.
