Esther and her husband Harold were our next door neighbors for 33 years! Esther was born the same year as my mother Mary Jane, who died in 1981. Esther became like a second mom to me, helping me in so many ways as I learned to parent my three children. She taught me much about fruits and nuts, ways of gardening and canning, drying and freezing. We shared coffee and stories. She loved my kids. She loved me, “I love you sweetheart!” She helped me in the early 1990’s to organize the parish of St. Charles around the high cost for sewer installations, packing city hall each week! I miss Esther everyday and give thanks to God for her life. She touched me deeply. I offer my prayers of thanksgiving for the exemplary life Esther lived. I pray for her children Rose, Steve, David and Bruce, that they and their children/grandchildren find peace in these times. ?? love Nancy
