Dustin Lamont Lane, was born April 6, 1951 in La Grande, Oregon. He was the second child of Patricia and Robert Lane. He spent most of his life in Portland where at age 19 he married, fathered a child, and started a career in the anodizing industry that spanned fifty years. His young adult life was filled with family, friends, work, cars, and music. Whether it was parties, drag racing, off-roading in the dunes, playing in a band or DJ’ing nights, his weekends were full. Later in life he calmed a bit with a Mustang displacing a Bronco, and cards largely replaced gas pedals and carburetors. At this time he was smile filled by another chance at being a father and later a grandfather. He glowed in moments when what became a quiet life was filled with family. Dusty could finish a crossword puzzle in minutes, a suduko puzzle in seconds and had a memory that left nothing out. His quiet nature meant his awareness, skepticism and positions largely went unshared. He never cast a vote and quietly shuffled where the tide lead. A calm soul with a caring heart, he saw the world for what it was and embraced it in his own way. He is and forever will be missed. Dusty Lane passed after a slow decline after a stroke. He is survived by his son Ron, daughter Megan, grandson Jeremiah, sister Melody, family and friends.
