June 14, 1932 - December 12, 2022 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Dorothy Brown was born on June 14th, 1932 in Fort Worth, Texas to Pastor Elijah and Rilla Newton. Dorothy was the youngest of 12 siblings: PJ Newton, David Newton, Nathaniel Newton, James Newton, William L. Newton and Raymond Derrel Newton, her brothers and Mary newton Brown, Clara Newton Jones, Helen Louise Jones, Willie Mae Smith and Annie Lee Crockett, her sisters. Dorothy Brown was very inquisitive, rebellious and very headstrong as a child, but she always made it known that she was her daddy’s little girl. Later on in years, Dorothy Brown was blessed to have 9 beautiful children Leroy Brown, Alestine & Ernestine Pearson, Ella Mae Henderson, Yvonne L. Jones, Diane Griffith, Stevie & Stephanie Pearson and the baby Lynette Allen. In the summer of “1989” Dorothy Brown gave her life to the Lord, the best decision she could have ever made. Dorothy chose Emanuel Church as her church home. Her spiritual journey included finding joy and satisfaction in her tribe group. Dorothy always steadfastly and contentedly served her Lord and Savior through her deeds, actions and prayers. Dorothy Brown leaves behind 4 children, Alestine Brady, Stevie Pearson, Yvonne Jones and Lynette Allen16 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A Homegoing Celebration will be held at Emmanuel Church, 1033 N Sumner Street, Portland, Oregon,Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 10 AM.
