Donna Marie Gleason-Bopp

March 13, 1938 – Dec. 31, 2022

Donna Marie Gleason-Bopp passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 in Spokane, Washington.  She would have been 85 years old on March 13^th.

Donna was born Donna Marie Tappins in Norwalk, Wisconsin to Wesley and Olive Tappins.  She had two older sisters, Virginia and Nancy.  The family moved to Portland, Oregon in the 40’s and she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956.  Donna married Lyle Gleason in 1959, and his work with the State Department took them to the Philippines, Greece, Portugal, Peru, New Zealand, and Ghana.  Their son, Daniel Gleason was born into the globetrotting family in 1961 in the Phillipines.  Donna returned to the States in 1983 after her husband’s death.

While overseas, Donna worked in Communications, and upon her return to the states, settled in Gresham, Oregon.   She worked as an administrative assistant for the Rock Creek Campus of Portland Community College until she retired in 2003.  Donna married Michael (Mike) Bopp in 2003, and they lived in Gresham, enjoying their retirement years together.  Donna and Mike loved to travel, visit with their neighbors, many friends, and their Gleason, Bopp, and Tappins families.  Donna had a love of people, pets, and her church.   She was perpetually joyful and patient, and lived life with an infectious smile and inability to get rattled.

Donna is survived by her husband Michael Bopp of Spokane, her son Daniel Gleason (and Kelly) of Morris Plains, New Jersey,  Stepson Jason Bopp (and Heather) of Spokane, WA, Grandchildren Trevor Gleason (and Bailey), Connor Gleason (and Meredith), Kelsey Gleason Trinka  (and Jeremy), Emily Bopp, Caleb Bopp, one great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 23rd at 9:30am at Omega Funeral Home, 223 SE 122nd Ave, Portland, Oregon.
