Diane Carol Laursen

I have said these things to you,
That in me you may have peace.
In the world, you will have tribulation.
But take heart!
I have overcome the world.
~ John 16:33

Diane Carol Laursen, 64, of Portland, Oregon, passed away suddenly on November 16, 2022, after a long decline in health.

Diane was born on December 1, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the youngest of three daughters born to Marjorie and Gordon Judd.

When Diane was four months old, the family relocated to Los Angeles, California. Diane was raised in the suburb of Brentwood and later, Glendale.

Diane graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in La Crescenta, California in 1975 and went on to train as a paralegal.

Following a divorce, Diane relocated to Portland, Oregon in 1993 with her young daughter. She worked for a Portland law firm until her retirement in the early 2000s.

In retirement, Diane turned her attention to volunteer work, particularly her lifelong passion for animal rescue. Diane loved reading, especially true crime, prowling through antique and thrift shops, watching movies, playing board games, and spending time at the beach.

Diane was predeceased by her parents, two children who died in infancy, her stepfather, a stepsister, and a long line of beloved cats and dogs. She is survived by her daughter, two grandsons, two sisters, two stepsisters, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Diane’s ashes will be scattered at a beachside memorial service in the spring. Donations in her honor can be made to Beau’s Bridge Club, a wonderful animal rescue organization for senior dogs that was founded by Diane’s stepsister and niece.
