This is a beautiful tribute to your dad who is gone way too soon. I remember the first day I met him which was his first day at work in the Cascade Dining Room at Timberline Lodge. He showed up dressed to the nines in a crisp blue shirt, tie and a grey suit with his hair perfectly groomed which was way above how anyone else who worked in the CDR ever presented themselves. But that was his style. He was also running marathons at that time, so he was super fit. More importantly I remember his gracious way of caring for customers and co-workers because it was truly genuine and authentic. (I have a good story about how Dennis's hospitality heart saved me in a challenging moment at work, but will save that for another time.) Back in those days and even after we all left our jobs at Timberline, Paul and I were fortunate enough to also spend time with Dennis skiing, camping, bike riding, hiking and just having fun in the outdoors. (Paul and Dennis had an adventure on the mountain that Dennis wrote about and the story actually made its way to the Mountain Times.) We are so sorry for your loss and we wish you peace in this difficult time.

I am still at a loss of words. I am terribly sorry about the passing of your father. I really enjoyed talking to him thru the years about mountains, Germany, and Chris. He clearly raised amazing kids and please always let me know if you need anything. Hang in there and I hope that closure will come SOON.
