February 16, 2021 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends
Dustin, I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you and your family will be in my thoughts in the coming days and months ahead. I hope you find peace in the wonderful memories you have.

Dustin, Dana, & Alex, I had the honor of meeting your parents several times, and each time I saw them, somehow it always came up in the conversations about how much they cared about you, or how proud they were of you. They instilled a lot of great qualities in you three, and I know you will continue to make them proud. Having lost my mom (and last parent) less than a month ago, I know how hard it is for you, but I pray that it brings you comfort in knowing that your dad has been reunited with your mom, and neither has any of the health issues they had here on Earth. I can imagine your dad has given your mom a ton of hugs and kisses, and has caught her up on all that’s happened since she passed. Praying that the memories provide you with peace and comfort in the days & weeks ahead. Just remember that while it might seem that they are gone, they are there with you always.

I remember Dennis, Randy and I in our Boy Scout uniforms going to troop meetings in the church basement.. And Dennis was the best Little League catcher for several years. If he had the ball and you were sliding home, he'd cream ya. then pick you up, dust you off, make sure you were OK, then send you back to your dugout. His early demonstrations of leadership foresaw the future. For his younger brothers, he was both the classic role model and the enthusiastic cheerleader..When consulted, his counsel was always based on his level-headed common sense perspective. Now Dennis and Randy can either continue, or finally settle their arguments about fishing and other worldly issues. I remember their wedding, significant to me as the first I attended as an adult. It seemed perfect to me, and I have been reminded of that ceremony at the others that I have attended ever since. Thank you for coming to our wedding, and especially Thank you Dennis for being my big brother. Tell Becky and Randy how much we miss them.

From reading the obituary, Dennis certainly lived a life of service. I am sure the entire family is proud of that legacy. Dustin, the qualities describing your dad have certainly passed on to you! I loved seeing the picture of the two of you as umpires and knowing that he too was in law enforcement. To the Carter family -- I lost my father recently. I know what you are experiencing, especially in a COVID world. God bless to all. Mike Miller (a coworker of Dustin's from State Farm)

We worked together at Gaddis Golf in hoopeston when He first came home from the Airfoce, Darlene and your mom were best friends, they met there and the rest is history. Used to squirel hunt. pheasant hunt, rabbit hunt, and fish together alot. Many memoories. We played cards and marbles till wee hours, while you kids slept on the floor. I could write a book. May he rest in peace. Darlene and I will always remember our friendship. Love you all, Dave and Darlene
