Daniel James Patten

December 9th, 1983 – August 18, 2021

Daniel (Danny, DP) Patten, 37, of Portland Oregon passed away at his home on August 18th, 2021.

Danny was born in Waterloo, Iowa on December 9th, 1983, to Mark Alan Patten and Cindy Jo (Johnson) Patten.  He had one sister, Amanda Jo (Minnie).

Dan grew up in Waterloo, Iowa and graduated from West High School.  He then attended Hawkeye Community College. He worked various jobs and was quite the salesman.

Daniel married Julie Wagner-Patten in July of 2011.  They later divorced.

Daniel leaves behind his parents and his sister Amanda (Shane) Farmer; His nephew, Maddox Stanley Farmer and his niece, Lennox Jo Farmer; Grandmother Cheryl A Patten; His Aunts, Uncles, and cousins; Jody (David) Peterson, Matthew and Alicia Peterson and family; Meghan and Justin Birdnow and family; Pamela Wright, Chase Wright, Melissa (Josef) Fox, Brittany Wagner (Joseph Corbin) and family, Benjamin Wagner and family, Roswell Brown; His very close friend and cousin Jeremy Hummel (Tina) and family. He also had many other relatives and close friends.

Proceeded in death by his: Grandfather James R Patten; Grandparents Ronald and Winkie Johnson; Uncle James A Patten; Aunt and Uncle Dawn and Joseph Haywood.

Dan was known for his infectious smile and being the life of the room. He was energized by the people around him. Dan was very artistic with a passion for music and drawing. He also enjoyed playing pool, skate boarding, the Pittsburg Steelers and his cat, Sam. He loved to cook and would always make extra to share with friends or neighbors.

Rest in peace our son and big brother. We Love You. Until we meet again.

Daniel will be laid to rest at Garden of Memories on 10/02/2021 at 1 PM.

A celebration of life to follow at Majestic Moon from 2-5 PM. Address 1955 Locke Ave #2614 Lower-Level Waterloo, IA. A full meal will be served.

Memorials can be directed to the House of Hope or Cedar Valley Humane Society in honor of Daniels life.
