Christopher John Mickelsen

November 18, 1967 – January 6, 2026

It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of a son: Christopher John Mickelsen, 58, died on January 6, 2026, at his home in Portland. Chris was born on November 18, 1967, in Little Rock, Arkansas to happy parents Virginia and Peter Mickelsen, Sr. and a brother, Peter Jr. He was a bright, sensitive young person and attended schools in Seattle and Portland.

A staunch protector of animals, Chris was a life-long defender of animal rights. He worked with veterinarians in treating and caring for pets. He loved baseball; most notably, the Seattle Mariners.

Chris’s quick wit and contagious smile endeared him to family and friends alike.

He is survived by his parents and brother and his most cherished friends, Will and Carlos.

Chris’s memory is a treasure for those fortunate to have known him.
