Carol was born at Emanuel hospital on October 16, 1946, to Theodore Hinkle and Dorothy (Van Lanen) Hinkle.  She was an older sister to her brother, Jerry.

Carol graduated from David Douglas High School in 1964.

She was married for a short time and then divorced.  A number of years later she gave birth to an infant son that she named Terry.  He was adopted immediately in 1986.

Over the past 40 years, mental illness crept in and she ended up in group homes and foster homes.  Even then she was always kind and generous.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry, sister -in-law Karen, Nephews Marty and Ryan and numerous cousins.

No service will be held for Carol.

The family is grateful for the care she received from her caregiver, Hirity, during this past year.
