He attended a one room country grade school thru 8th grade in Shelton Township and was a 1953 graduate of Gibbon High School.

In 1960 he married Theresa Waite in Grand Island, Nebraska. He worked at Rinder Commercial Printing Company in Grand Island from 1953 to 1974 when he moved to Oregon. From 1974 to 1979 he owned and operated the Fairview Groceteria. He went on to work as a salesman for Gallenkamps Shoes, Lindicott’s and Al’s Shoe Store.

He enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, camping with his sons.

He is survived by his Wife, Theresa,

Sons, James, Russell and Roland
