Barbara Jean “Bobbie” Warren

Sunrise: August 28, 1954          Sunset: February 19, 2023

Barbara Jean (Bobbie) Warren was the third and middle child of five children born to Frank Warren and Venice Alexander Warren. Born August 28, 1954, Passed Away February 19, 2023. Barbara Jean is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Frank David Warren.

Barbara Jean attended Boise Elementary School, Jefferson High School, and graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1972. Bobbie was an exemplary student who loved reading and math. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles or just about any type of mind twister, along with knitting, but most of all, reading was her passion (she always had a book in her hand). Bobbie spent hours upon hours in the local libraries.

During her teens she was tall and lanky, and a couple of her uncles always called her “Skinny Minnie.” Bobbie convinced her parents to buy her a piano because her cousin JoAnn was a great piano player and they both were born just 13 days apart from each other. She did take lessons and practiced with JoAnn for a while, but she went on to something else. I remember she was so upset with Charles, who, being his rambunctious self, carved KC “King Charles” into the lid of the piano.

Bobbie grew up attending Mount Sinai Baptist Church, Vancouver Avenue Baptist Church, and preceding her passing, Celebration Tabernacle Church with her sister Beverly.

Barbara was employed at the US Post Office for 15 years in a security position handling large amounts of currencies (US and foreign). She knew where every Street or Avenue in the City of Portland OR was located. Bobbie worked as a Dental Scheduler for Kaiser Permanente and then as an Office Assistant and Office Manager for Key Bank for many years. After an on-the-job injury she opted to stay home and raise her children.

Barbara Jean and Seymour McCarthy had three children together who were her heart: Aaron Walter McCarthy, Daniel Isaac McCarthy, and Vanessa Irene McCarthy. She was grandmother to eleven grandchildren.

Barbara Jean Warren leaves to mourn her passing, her children Aaron Walter McCarthy, Daniel Isaac McCarthy, and Vanessa Irene McCarthy and her eleven grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Airiona McCarthy, Jeremiah McCarthy, Adrielle McCarthy, Ava Jean McCarthy, Isaac McCarthy, Aaniyah Danielle McCarthy, Aliviah Rose McCarthy, King Amir Walter McCarthy (Aaron), Mateo McCarthy (Daniel), and Earl Montgomery-McCarthy (Vanessa), her sisters Naomi Warren, Los Angeles, CA, Beverly Warren and brother Charles Warren, Portland OR, nephews Jerome Nelson, Los Angeles, CA, Jeramy Warren, Minot, ND, Micheal Warren, Derrick Warren, great nephews Damien Warren, Marcel Warren, Seattle, WA, Jeramy Warren (JD) Jr, Marquise Warren, Devante Warren, great nieces Mikayla Warren, Mia Warren, Miracle Warren, Kabriana Warren, great great nephew Jarel Warren, all of Portland OR, and a host of family and friends.
