Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Ann passed away peacefully at home on the morning of September 8th. Ann was a very vibrant person from her clothes to her friends and family. She never met a stranger, she would start talking to just about anyone and brag about her family if not kids, her grandkids, if not grandkids, then her great-grandkids, if not them she’d tell you about her neighbor’s kids… she loved kids whether hers or the ones she claimed as hers and to be considered a kid you only had to be as young as her oldest. After she graduated from South Albany High, she went to Alaska to take care of her mother and didn’t leave permanently until 2007. In 1962 she married Richard (Dick) Brossow and had 3 kids. She started working as a waitress in Seward, AK and continued for many years wherever they ended up in Alaska. They went from Seward, Kenai, Anchorage, Eagle River, and spent 2 summers camping in Valdez during the Alyeska Pipeline days. In the 1980’s along with her other jobs, she opened her own cake decorating business. The cake business did well, and she enjoyed making the cakes, this made it hard for her kids when they got married because they knew exactly what they wanted for a cake, and it had to be freshly baked. In the late 80’s she and Dick divorced, she stayed in Eagle River and enjoyed all the kids in and out of the house, her grandson, and life in general. But as with everything else in life, things happen, and she took off in other directions. Around the time she turned 50, Ann found Danny and hit on him, for those who knew Ann this wouldn’t be a surprise. After chasing and working with him for several years Danny became part of the family. Ann was present at most of the grandkids’ births and would have it no other way. She ended up having to retire early when they discovered she had psoriatic arthritis in most of her joints; although she stopped working full time you could find her filling in occasionally both at Center Bowl and the Buckaroo Club. When Danny decided it was time for him to go home to Portland, Ann of course went with him, and they have been happily living in the Portland area for 17 years. She was able to putter in her gardens longer than in Alaska and loved it. Ann is preceded in death by her parents Doyle Franklin and Laura (Geraldine) Bean, her brothers Glen Franklin and David Franklin, and her grandson Duane Braun. Ann is survived by her Partner in life – Danny Blalock. Her Children – Jerri Braun (Kurt), Rick (Marie) and Robert Brossow (Jennifer). Her Grandkids – James Brossow, Ambrosia McNeil-Vaneck (Ostin), Annita Braun, Ricky Brossow Jr, Kenneth Brossow, Dawson Brossow, Brayden Brossow and Anastasia Brossow. Her Great-grandkids – Bryce Braun, Layla Keller, Brooklyn Brossow, Aliyah Keller, Jamal Keller, Elijah (Bubba) Keller and Romina McNeil-Vaneck. Her Sisters and Brothers Judy (Randy) Coleman, Richard (Francis) Franklin, Cindi (Jim) Claflin, Dan (Ronda) Franklin, Brian Bean, Stepmother Donna Watts, and many, many nieces and nephews.
