In Loving Memory of Michael Shannon
Michael Shannon passed away on September 17, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, love, and lessons that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Born in December 1964 to Gene and Eva Shannon, Michael was a beloved father to Tiffany, Jaymee, and Nicholas, and a proud grandfather to Maddie, Domnick, Malia, Rylynn, and Saylor. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother Dave and Bobbie, his first love, who will forever carry a piece of him in her heart. Michael was preceded in death by his brother Tim.
Michael was a hardworking, dependable, and passionate man. He took pride in his work and found purpose in taking others under his wing, sharing his knowledge, offering guidance, and encouraging those around him.
Michael’s love story with Bobbie began on a blind date the summer before she started high school. From that very first date, they were nearly inseparable. Through life’s many seasons, its joys and challenges, they always seemed to find their way back to one another. Together, they shared countless adventures, including camping and fishing trips along the Deschutes River, a place that held a special piece of Michael’s heart.
One of their most treasured adventures was a family trip to Guam, where Michael had grown up. He was proud to share the place that shaped his childhood, introducing his family to loved ones, walking along the beaches, and enjoying the sound of the ocean waves.
Michael had a gift for storytelling. His children will forever remember being tucked into bed while he shared stories of growing up in Guam, painting pictures so vivid they could almost smell the flowers and feel the warm ocean breeze. He also had a playful sense of humor, especially during family camping trips, when he would convince the kids that Bigfoot might be watching them from the trees.
Whether he was casting a fishing line, enjoying the outdoors, or cheering on his beloved Portland Trail Blazers, Michael appreciated life’s adventures and the memories made along the way.
Like all of us, Michael’s journey was filled with moments of joy, seasons of struggle, and opportunities for growth. He had a big heart and a desire to become the best version of himself. His life reminds us that every person’s story is made up of both triumphs and challenges, and that grace, compassion, and love are gifts we can extend even through life’s most difficult seasons.
As we say goodbye, we find comfort in God’s promises, knowing that even in our deepest sorrow, His love remains steadfast.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” — Psalm 34:18 (NLT)
Michael’s story does not end with his passing. It lives on in the stories his children will tell, the adventures his grandchildren will experience, the lessons he shared, and the love that will forever connect his family.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Until we meet again.
