Obituary

Lynden Leroy Biglin was born December 7, 1938 in Eugene, OR. At the age of 17, he moved to Portland with his parents, Eileen and John Biglin and his sister, Janell. Shortly after graduating from Grant High School in 1957, Lynden joined the Marine Corps in January of 1958. He served for four years, and spent the majority of his service stationed in Las Vegas. Lynden loved retelling stories of his time in Vegas, as it was a memorable chapter of his life.

But the most memorable chapter began when he met the love of his life, Patricia Spear, at a dance in 1962. After only their third date, Lynden proposed. They were married on April 27, 1963, the beginning of a marriage that lasted 63 years. Lynden and Patricia welcomed their daughter, Heather, in 1969 and welcomed Heather’s spouse, Douglas Raab, in 1995. They later became grandparents to Heather and Doug’s daughters, Gabriella and Zoë.

In his professional life, Lynden worked in commercial construction. He was involved in the construction and management of numerous high-rise projects in Portland, including the construction of the 1515 Market Square building in Downtown Portland.

Lynden had a great love for jazz music and classic cars. After he and Patricia were married, he spent time working as a radio DJ in Winchester Bay, OR. In his retirement years, he could often be found in his garage, tinkering with his 1961 MG and listening to his favorite jazz.

Known as Sonny to those closest to him, Lynden will be greatly missed for his joking personality and loving heart. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, his daughter, Heather (Doug), his granddaughters, Gabriella and Zoë, his sister, Janell (Jon), his nephew, Casey (Suzanne), and his niece, Caitlin (Erik).
