He attended St. Mary’s in Phoenix for all 12 years before attending Notre Dame. He graduated from Notre Dame in 1952 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He was involved in band in both high school and college, playing the clarinet in high school and alto saxophone in college. As a young boy, he worked for the telephone company as a mail boy in the summers starting in 8th grade. After graduation from Notre Dame, he worked for Union Carbide in Oak Ridge, TN. He had his name on three different patents during this time. He joined the Navy in 1955 and qualified for officer training. He was in the navy for 4 years before remaining in the reserves for many years. Bob received a MBA from Northwestern in 1960. Bob lived most of his life in Arizona, living in Tempe, Gold Canyon, Pinetop and Flagstaff. His grandchildren have fond memories of the time they spent with him on his porch in Pinetop. He moved to Oregon in 2017 to be near his son, daughter-in-law and grandson. Bob was an engineer, entrepreneur, excellent professional artist – published photographer and native American art connoisseur. He loved to hike and backpack in his younger years and he often went on week long solo adventures in his camper. While living in Arizona, he followed the Phoenix Suns and had season tickets early on. His Catholic faith was very important to him. He was like a walking encyclopedia as he seemed to know so many things. He had amazing stories to tell of his life, and never the same stories, so everyone knew a different piece of his life. A celebration of Robert G. Trehearne’s life is scheduled for April 23, 2025 at 10:30 am. It will take place at Christ the King Church in Milwaukie, Oregon (11709 SE Fuller Rd). All are welcome to attend. Robert G. Trehearne

Bob was a lover of travel, sweet treats, photography, books, nature and above all else – family. He will forever be missed and loved greatly. What a “good show” he lived.
The family thanks the caregivers and staff at Royalton Place for their care and kindness.
