August 18, 1954 - April 9, 2025 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Bonnie Lea June Tym Corson, age 70, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in her home in Oregon City from stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Bonnie was born in Two Hills, Alberta, Canada, to her parents Doris and Peter Tym. She arrived a few minutes before her fraternal twin sister, Berna Tym, joining their two older sisters, Ardythe and Sharon. The family soon moved to the US, spending time in Washington, Oregon, and California. Bonnie attended Walla Walla College, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She met her husband, Dave Corson, in Portland, Oregon, while completing her nursing degree, and they were married in June 1977. Bonnie and Dave settled in Oregon City and had three children: Michelle, Cindy, and David. Bonnie worked as a full-time nurse before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She returned to nursing after her children were in school, working in various areas including Medical/Surgical, Labor & Delivery, Hospice, Chemotherapy, and caring for Medically Fragile children. Bonnie often shared how much she loved her children and family, considering them the greatest joy of her life. She loved spending time together and always sought fun and adventure, whether visiting the county fair, playing miniature golf, or driving to Canada for 3 days to visit family. Bonnie enjoyed playing games, eating good food, and traveling to places like Hawaii, Mexico, Europe, and the Caribbean. She was actively involved in her children’s school, serving as the Home & School Chair and participating in field trips, fundraisers, and bake sales. Bonnie was a vivacious extrovert, always welcoming others, inviting them for meals after church, or sharing a smile and a laugh with new friends. She loved flowers, bright colors, and had a larger-than-life personality. Bonnie also loved music, played the piano, and sang with a strong and boisterous alto, harmonizing to any song by ear. She often joked about forming a family band like “The Von Trapp Family Singers” from her favorite movie, The Sound of Music. Bonnie loved Jesus and was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist church. The Corson family began attending Pleasant Valley Seventh-day Adventist church in the early 2000s, where Bonnie was a cherished member until her passing. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Peter Tym, and her sisters, Ardythe (Tym) Price, Sharon (Tym) Foley, and Berna Tym. She is survived by her husband, Dave Corson, her children, Michelle (Corson) Schweitzer, Cindy Corson, and David Corson, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. A memorial service celebrating Bonnie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 11125 SE 172nd Ave, Happy Valley, OR 97086. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Portland Adventist Community Services (PACS) at https://secure.givelively.org/donate/portland-adventist-community-services. Bonnie’s life was a profound testament to love, fun, and bright positivity. Her unwavering faith in Jesus and enduring spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her. Rest in peace, Mom. Your love and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
