1954 – 2020
Mark Ledford, 1954-2020, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at home in Portland on December 17, 2020.
Mark was an avid bicyclist, bike mechanic, pianist, violinist and composer.
A staunch Oregonian, “Ledford” graduated from Reynolds High School, later taking classes at Portland State. He participated in Oregon’s early bicycle racing scene of the 1970s at Delta Park, Alpenrose tracks and the Mt. Tabor Circuit. Mark was also a Weather Geek, Jeopardy Nerd, and very proud of his Scrabble skills. Later in life he enjoyed his daily walks at Mt. Tabor Park, observing the birds and nature. Those who knew Mark over the years would agree that he was a brilliant, sensitive, quirky guy.
He will be missed.
