This tribute is from Cheryl Phillips, Billie’s niece Susie, I sit here this morning reading the obituary, with tears in my eyes….not from sorrow but for joy. I always thought Billie was a remarkable gift to the world. She was so vibrant, full of knowledge, generous, and a definite role model. She seemed to always find the positive and joy in any situation. You and your family were definitely blessed to have her in your lives for as long as you did. There really aren’t enough adjectives to describe your mother! She was one of a kind! You could never be sad around her. Billie showed us how the quality of goodness can make an ordinary person extraordinary. God Bless you all. My hope is that the Newell family are having a wonderful time reminiscing about Phoenix Mills and all their escapades! I hope John is recovering nicely. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. You are definitely your mother’s daughter and she is proud!

Mom, yesterday was one week since you left us. I miss you more than I can say! Today I am singing some of our favorite songs and loving those I am with almost as fiercely as you did. I hear from dear friends that you have known all my life. Thankful for all you have taught me.
