My Mother was my best friend and confidant. I could tell her anything, there was no judgement or criticism. Mom accepted me with all my flaws and quirks. She loved me unconditionally, was proud of the man I had become and my life achievements. She told me almost daily. I was fortunate to have lived in Portland the last 12 years. Hardly a Sunday was missed that mom didn’t come over for dinner and card playing. I will cherish the times of laughter and stories she would tell. Sometimes I would say “oh mom I have heard that story a hundred times”. What I wouldn’t give to hear one of those stories now. My Family lived in the Bay Area for many years, mom would visit summers and Christmas, meet us in Grants Pass for Thanksgiving and we flew to Portland for Easter every year. The vacations! Cruises to Bahamas, Greek Islands, Alaska and the east coast of Canada & US. Plus, trips to Europe and I will never forget our journey to Scottland to visit her cousin. The plane lands in Glasgow, you rent a car and are on your way on the “wrong side of the road”. It was mom’s job to make sure I didn’t hit the curb. It was quite the adventure. Mom always thought of others, always! Up until her last few days, she would say “I am sorry I am such a burden” and “I am sorry you have to go through this”. I am so grateful I was there for Mothers passing. She held my hand and said “I love you Gary” then repeated “It’s okay” ……. Then she was gone. Celia, my lovely mom has left this earth and I miss her an awful lot, but I have will have so many memories of all the joy and love she brought to me and so many others. Her infectious smile is all around me. I love you Mother.

Our Dearest Auntie Cee was a treasured soul. She was more like a second Mom or a big sister to me. Together we shared a lifetime of story telling of the past, laughter, card games, shopping and much love. Aunty Cee made myself, my husband , my children and grandchildren welcomed with open arms into her life. It was never too much for her to cook meals, make us comfortable and spend time together, always being so happy to see every one of us. We always laughed when I visited as the 2 of us would sleep in the same bed and laugh about how Auntie Cee slept with me when I was a baby and every time she came to visit my parents, her and I shared a bed! She loved to go to the Casino where we would play the slot machines! She had such a bubbly infectious personality, I swear she could talk the workers into telling her which machine was going to pay out, as she usually won a bit of cash! Aunty Cee will be in my thoughts and held in my heart forever. May You Rest In Peace and may God Bless You. Love, Alice, Paul & family

If Roses grow in heaven, Lord pick a bunch for me, Place them in Celia’s arms And tell her they’re from me. You were such a wonderful addition to our family I will miss you terribly until we meet once again. Love you, Celia?
