Born to Stanford Ruben (Doc) Hill and Grace Idell Creek in Pratt Kansas passed away April 23, 2019 in Portland Oregon with family around him.
The family moved to Oregon when he was a young boy and went through the VanPort Flood in North Portland in 1948. He was a Golden Glove Boxer in St Johns as a kid. He was a Sea Scout and he liked the great outdoors to hunt and camp. He was involved with the boy scouts troop 36 in NE Portland Woodlawn area for years. He often took the boys to summer camp by himself. He played ball for Moore Oregon and was a welder by trade.
Education was important to him. He went to Park Rose High School but did not graduate. He made sure the all his kids graduated and encouraged the grandkids to get their education.
He was very involved with his kids and grandkids enjoying as many adventures as possible.
He married Nora Jean Mead in 1958 and later divorced in 1979. He joined family with Mildred Ingram in 1979 and was his partner until she passed in 2005.
He is still LOVED by many and will be GREATLY missed.
He is survived by his kids Stan Hill (Carol Atkins) Karrie Young, Jerrie Keely (Melvin), David Hill (Lasonja Buchman), Kenneth Ingram (Bridgett Barnett), and Bobbie Hill.
He is survived by Many, Many Grand Kids, Great Grand Children, and Great Great Grand Children, Numerous nieces and nephews.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Stanford and Grace Hill, His brother Nolan Jay Smith,Sisters NaDeene McCafferty and Nancy Curtis.
